The Application Process
Step 1 – Apply Online
Applications for courses starting in September 2024 are now open.
When you complete your application, you will receive an acknowledgment email with login details, username and password, for your new account on our college applications system (MIT). Please ensure you receive this email as it sometimes goes into spam/junk folders.
You will need to log into the college applications system (MIT) regularly to manage your application to Pearse College of Further Education. Please note that your login details must be kept, by you, in a safe and secure place as they will be needed to access your account each time.
Step 2 – First round offers
Within 10 working days from the date of your application, you will receive your provisional offer letter to your Pearse College (MIT) account, which you will need to login to, to access your letter. We will send you a text and email when your offer letter has been uploaded to your account.
*This offer is provisional and is subject to places being available and any specific course requirements being met, for e.g. Leaving Cert. Results, relevant experience etc.
Step-3 – Pay a non-refundable €50 Registration Fee
You will receive a text & email asking you to pay your non-refundable €50 registration fee online. Please go to the college website and click on the Pay Fees button (or you may login to your account in the usual way). This will take you to the login page of the college applications system. Once you are logged in, select the Payments tab and select pay your €50 registration fee. Failure to pay your registration fee may result in your application being canceled and the loss of your place.
If you are in receipt of a social welfare payment/ and or medical card, and are applying for a BTEI course, then you will not have to pay any registration fees. For more information contact btei@pearse.cdetb.ie.
International Applicants
The college welcomes applications from international applicants. In order to be eligible for a course:
- International students must be resident in Ireland
- Possess the following documents, passport (if EU) or registration book / Green Card with Stamp 4 for PLC courses, Leaving Certificate and Repeat Leaving Certificate
- Applicants from outside the EU with student visas are required to pay full international fees
English Language
All courses are delivered through English. Learners are advised that to benefit from their chosen course they should be proficient in written and spoken English. Learners may be required to do an English Language proficiency assessment as part of the enrolment process.
