This is a QQI Level 5 course that offers students the opportunity to learn about the modern business environment. Students develop skills and knowledge in Marketing, Economics, Law, Accounting and in Digital Marketing which can help them secure employment in a wide range of business firms and/or to progress to the Advanced Business Course in Pearse College or to a range of courses in Institutes of Technology.

This one-year Information Technology course introduces the learner to the digital architecture and theoretical concepts underpinning IT infrastructure and Software Development. All these subjects create a solid background knowledge for entry to many third level courses, such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Computing and many others.

Entry Requirements
Students should have an interest in computing and a level of education to the Leaving Certificate or its equivalent. This should include Mathematics. The college also will consider applications from mature students who do not meet these requirements. This course may also suit applicants with suitable transferable skills who are seeking a conversion course to IT.
Career Opportunities
The IT sector and smart economy is the fastest growing job sector at the moment. This course offers QQI Level 5 certification which is a qualification in its own right, or can provide a pathway to Level 7 or 8 in the Institutes of Technology/Colleges. It is ideal for those considering further study in computer science and software engineering.
