Flexi Programme

January 2022 Part-Time Flexi Skills to Compete Courses

QQI Levels 4 and 5 component certificates

The Flexi programme is part-time and available free of charge to BTEI applicants or those in receipt of a social welfare payment and/or with a current medical card. This is a fresh new approach, based on a flexible menu that allows you to pick and choose the courses that you want from a list of options. You can choose to undertake 1 module and attend 1 afternoon/morning per week or you can do 2, 3 or 4 modules at a time. You can choose to undertake modules from the same general area or you could choose from a mixture of sectors.

These classes will be run subject to sufficient numbers enrolling.

Course Content

Modules are offered across a variety of different areas and include:

  • Infection Prevention & Control (Level 5) – Mon (11.30am-12.30pm) – Blended (mix of online and face-to-face tuition).
  • Maths for Beginners/Homework (Level 4) – Weds (11.30am-1.30pm) – on campus.
  • Personal Professional Development (Level 5) – Thurs (10am-12.30pm).
  • Introduction to Gardening (Level 4)
    – Horticultural tools (9am-11am)
    – Plant identification (11.30am-1.30pm)
    – Growing vegetables (2pm-4pm)

Outline of the modules:

Infection Prevention & Control (Level 5) – This course is designed to provide the learner with the knowledge, skills and competencies to prevent and control infection within the healthcare sector. 

Maths for Beginners/Homework (Level 4) – Perfect for parents who are finding it difficult to help their children with their Maths homework; or for those looking to reskill/upskill in numeracy.

Personal Professional Development (Level 5) – Looking to re/enter the workforce or return to education?  Start your future now with this Professional Development Course.

Grown Your Own Vegetables (Level 4) – Get the knowledge and power to “grow your own” fruit and vegetables in a sustainable way – saving money, enjoying the outdoor lifestyle, while socialising with other gardeners. Sign up today!

Monday to Friday from September to December and from January to May – part time

We are now taking applications for our Flexi courses starting in January 2022. Applicants can apply online. TO APPLY?
