Logistics & Distribution

Pearse College are delighted to continue our Skills to Advance programme which provides free upskilling courses for those currently employed in a logistics or healthcare sector. All classes take place online, one afternoon a week. IT support classes will be available to students throughout the course.

Course Content

Modules include:

  • Spreadsheet Methods (5N1977) – Please note this module will be self-paced and delivered online; limited places are available.
  • Freight Forwarding (5N2728) – Day and time to be confirmed.

QQI level 5 in Logistics & Distribution (5M2767)

Duration

Part-time – September – December 2023

Entry Requirements

  • Education: Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 4 when accessing a Level 5 programme. Applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education although no formal qualifications are required.
  • Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
  • Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

Employability Statement

On completion of this Programme, learners may pursue roles within the Distribution & Logistics sector which may include working as warehouse managers, facility management or international freight management.
Work placement / work experience may be a core feature/element of programmes in this field facilitating the enhancement of employability and transversal skills.

We are delighted to work with the IFFA (Irish Freight Forwarding Association) in the delivery of this course.

Course Charges

This course is only available to employees working in the Logistics & Distribution sector and is free. There are no course fees applied if you are currently employed.
