The aim of this course is to help entry into a career in engineering through recognised apprenticeships or through third level courses elsewhere. The course has been quite successful for participants over the years frequently leading to immediate employment in the engineering industry.

Engineering Workshop Processes (5N1608); Computer Aided Design (5N1604); Mathematics (5N1833); Maths for STEM (5N0556)*; Safety & Health at Work (5N1794); Word Processing (5N1358); Spreadsheet Methods (5N1977); Communications (5N0690); Work Experience (5N1356).

Certification
QQI Level 5 Award in Engineering Technology (5M2061)
Duration
1 year – September to May (full-time)
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or equivalent exam, although consideration will be given at interview to any well motivated student. We are looking for enthusiasts. Mature students are particularly welcome.
Third Level Links/Progression
This is recognised by DIT and other Institutes of Technology in Engineering Courses for alternative entry qualification. We have a close link with the Institute of Technology, Tallaght. Our students have been particularly successful at third level. For more information, click here
