PreUniversity Engineering
This innovative and practical course will prepare students for entry into third level or an engineering apprenticeship. The course aims to develop, skills, knowledge and expertise essential to gaining an apprenticeship in the industry as well as providing progression opportunities to those interested in studying engineering at third level. The course run in collaboration with TUD Tallaght full time at Pearse college and on campus in TUD Tallaght one afternoon a week.
Course Content
Engineering Workshop, Computer Aided Drawing, Communications, Work Experience, Maths, Physics, either Building Construction OR Electronics and Engineering Drawing. Maths for STEM (Optional)
Certification
QQI Level 5 Award in Engineering Technology (5M2061)
Duration
1 year – September to May (full-time)
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or equivalent exam, although consideration will be given at interview to any well motivated student. We are looking for enthusiasts. Mature students are particularly welcome.

Students from the course go on to do apprenticeships in trades and in Engineering.
Note- Electronics is run in TUD Tallaght once a week. This course has been over subscribed over the last 4 years. You will need to attend a short interview before your place on the course is confirmed.

€100 registration fee.
