Inclusive Education and Training QQI Award (6M2263)

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence, to design, promote and implement best practice in inclusive education in a range of contexts and settings and/or to progress to higher education and training.

Course Content

Special Needs Assisting (6N1957); Communications (6N1950); Personal and Professional Development (6N1949); Disability Awareness (6N1975); Health Promotion (6N2214); Mental Health Awareness (6N2209); Inclusive Education Practice (6N2226); Differentiated Learning & Instruction (6N2225)

Certification

QQI Level 6 Award in Inclusive Education and Training (6M2263)

Duration

1 year – September to May (full-time)

Entry Requirements

  • Education: Education: No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 5 when accessing a Level 6 programme.
  • Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
  • Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course and be able to exercise initiative and independence when carrying out course activities.

Career Opportunities

The successful completion of the QQI Level 6 award in Inclusive Education and Training will enable applicants to design, promote and implement best practice in inclusive education in a range of contexts and settings.

Third Level Links/Progression

There are opportunities to progress to other relevant higher awards in Third Level such as Psychology (UCD) and Deaf Studies (TCD). For more information, click here
