Students develop skills and knowledge in Marketing, Economics, Law, Accounting and in Digital Marketing which can help them secure employment in a wide range of business firms and/or to progress to the Advanced Business Course in Pearse College or to a range of courses in Institutes of Technology.

This one-year Computer Science course introduces the learner to the digital architecture and theoretical concepts underpinning IT infrastructure and Software Development. Entry Requirements
Students should have an interest in computing and a level of education to the Leaving Certificate or its equivalent. This should include Mathematics. The college also will consider applications from mature students who do not meet these requirements. This course may also suit applicants with suitable transferable skills who are seeking a conversion course to IT.
Career Opportunities
The IT sector and smart economy is the fastest growing job sector at the moment. This course offers QQI Level 5 certification which is a qualification in its own right, or can provide a pathway to Level 7 or 8 in the Institutes of Technology/Colleges. It is ideal for those considering further study in computer science and software engineering.

Entry Requirements
Applicants usually hold a QQI Level 5 qualification in a related area such as woodwork, furniture making, design, or construction, but we also welcome learners who have gained skills through experience rather than formal education. An interest in working with materials, a hands-on approach, and a willingness to develop advanced practical skills are essential. Mature applicants are very welcome.
Career Opportunities
The successful completion of the QQI Level 6 award in Furniture Design and Making will enable applicants to work independently and or in a supervisory capacity within a furniture design and manufacturing environment.
Third Level Links/Progression
Graduates can progress to related degree programmes in furniture design, product design, and craft at third-level institutions through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Many also use this qualification to specialise further in areas such as furniture making, wood technology, or contemporary craft practice.
