Entry Requirements
Applicants should hold a Leaving Certificate, LCA, or LCVP and will be invited to attend an interview. Those already working in drawing offices may apply through the industry block-release option. Mature applicants are very welcome.
Third Level Links/Progression
Graduates have progressed to degree programmes in Architectural Technology and related built-environment fields at TUD- Architectural Technology (TU831) and SETU -Architectural Technology (Level 7/8).
Many students also continue their studies through the Higher Education Links Scheme, using their QQI qualification to access courses in Construction Design, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and Sustainable Construction at other third-level institutions in Ireland and abroad.

This very practical course offers training in the skills needed to work in the childcare profession. It is a preparation for those who wish to work with young children in a variety of pre-school settings and may also lead to work as a Special Needs Assistant in a school setting. It covers all aspects of childcare and leads to a full Level 5 award suitable for immediate entry into the workplace. There is a Professional Practice Placement module as part of the course, so students will already have practical, hands-on experience when they finish the course.

Entry Requirements & Garda Vetting
A minimum of 5 passes at ordinary level in the Leaving Certificate or Applied Leaving Certificate is generally required or its equivalent. All those who apply will be given the opportunity to view the classroom space.
Garda Vetting is a requirement for every applicant. Non national applicants must provide Police Clearance from their home country before they can commence this course.
Career Opportunities
This one year course provides certification at QQI level 5 in early childhood care and education (ECCE). It meets the requirements for the ECCE pre-school programme.

Entry Requirements
- Education: This is year 2 of the new Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care (Level 6). Learners can progress to this course if they have already achieved the Early Learning and Care Level 5 award (Year 1) or have completed a Level 5 Childcare Award (within the last 5 years).
- Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
- Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course and be able to exercise initiative and independence when carrying out course activities.
Career Opportunities
The Advanced Certificate in Early Education and Care (Level 6) equips you to work as a Supervisor or Manager in an Early Education and Montessori setting.
Graduates can seek employment in creches, pre-school and after-school facilities.
Third Level Links/Progression
There are opportunities to progress to other relevant higher awards in Third Level such as BA in Early Childhood Teaching and Learning in NUI Maynooth, and BA in Early Childhood Education in NCI. For more information, click here

Pearse College’s one year Repeat Leaving Certificate course is an ideal opportunity for you to repeat your Leaving Certificate or assist your entry to University, Technology Universities or Post Leaving Cert courses.

Applicants to the Repeat Leaving Certificate Course are required to have sat the Leaving Certificate Examination within the last 4 years.
Applicants must submit their Leaving Certificate Results printout at the interview stage.
Mature students (21+) are welcome to apply provided they have previously sat the Leaving Certificate Examination and entry will be considered on an individual basis.

Directly into employment with landscapers, garden centres and related areas.
Many of our past students have also set up their own business.

In order to qualify for the Adult Leaving Certificate course:
- No previous academic records are necessary.
- An interview is compulsory.
- International students must sit English language and Mathematics tests unless previous students of the college.
