Our Soccer Coaching & Sports Psychology Course is about developing the skills and knowledge needed to become coaches, referees, managers and other key personnel skills for working with Junior Soccer teams. The FAI’s Kickstart 1 and Kickstart 2 programmes form part of the course which will provide students with the foundation for attaining the higher FAI coaching badges. The course has practical modules including coaching and exercise and fitness and also provides the student with further education and workplace opportunities. There are also several theory-based modules which require students to gain a deeper understanding of the various elements in the coaching and leisure sectors.

Entry Requirements
Experience and interest in soccer is essential. The student will be required to perform a practical interview on soccer competencies and a formal interview with the course co-ordinator. Successful completion of the Leaving Certificate is desirable but not essential.
Third Level Links/Progression
Successful students can progress to Advanced Soccer Coaching and Sports Psychology in Pearse College. Successful graduates may also apply through the Higher Education Links Scheme for diplomas/degrees in nutrition, science or related areas. For more information, click here
