This is a QQI Level 6 course which provides advanced competencies in areas such as relational database, spreadsheets, business management and payroll which are highly sought after in the business environment. This one or two year highly practical programme will equip students with the advanced technical, personal, and interpersonal skills necessary to pursue a career in the medium of photography and other related visual media or to proceed with a high degree of competency to degree level through established links with universities in Ireland and the UK.

Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate, LCA or QQI Level 5 award. Applicants may be accepted without formal academic qualifications. At interview you may present a portfolio of visual work which is desirable. Mature applicants are welcome.
Assessment
Students are continually assessed through practical project based assignments including portfolio preparation, ongoing critical review of work, production of visual promotional materials, running a professional studio, the event management of major exhibitions.
Career Opportunities
The wide variety of visual, graphic, design and technical skills gained on the course also makes students very successful in direct employment in the photographic industry.
Third Level Links/Progression
Our students have progressed to degree courses in Ireland, UK and Europe and having completed the National Certificate in Photography may be exempted from the first year of the degree course.
Students who achieve Level 5 QQI certification can gain entry to a number of courses via the CAO application process and the Higher Education Links Scheme. For more information, click here

Construction Technology QQI Award (5M5010)
This is a pre-apprenticeship course which helps students prepare for apprenticeships in the construction and engineering sectors.
The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence required to work independently and under supervision in a range of construction and engineering contexts. Learners can also, on successful completion, progress to apprenticeships in construction and engineering and/or to progress to higher education and training.
Applicants do not need to have completed a traditional Leaving Certificate to apply for this pre-apprenticeship. Applied Leaving Certificate students are also welcome to apply.

Entry Requirements
- Education: No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 4 when accessing a Level 5 programme.
- Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
- Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.
Employability Statement
The successful completion of the QQI Level 5 award in Construction Technology will enable applicants to work independently and under supervision in a range of construction industry contexts whilst applying current building regulations and safety and health regulations to specific construction related projects.

All applicants must be in a form of paid employment in order to be eligible for a Skills to Advance course.
Employability Statement
On completion of this Programme, learners may pursue roles within the Health, Family and Social Care sector which may include working as Health Care Support Workers, Carers, Youth Workers or in a broad range of roles in this industry in the public, community and private sectors. Recognition of regulatory and statutory bodies is confirmed for some programmes.
Work placement / work experience may be a core feature/element of programmes in this field facilitating the enhancement of employability and transversal skills.
