This one-year course is designed to give students a good understanding and appreciation of the Sciences and provide for the acquisition of relevant laboratory skills. The course also provides students with the opportunity to develop relevant life and work-related skills.

1 year – September to May (full-time)
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate with at least a grade C in Ordinary level Mathematics and one Science subject at Leaving Certificate or equivalent exam, although consideration will be given at interview to any well motivated student. We are looking for enthusiasts. Mature students are particularly welcome.
Third Level Links/Progression
Long established links with DIT and other Institutes of Technology, and with Irish Universities and British Universities. Successful graduating students currently enter third level courses in Science. The requirements for entry differ from college to college. For more information, click here

This course will prepare students for entrance into Arts or European Studies programmes in Third Level institutions. It will also give students essential skills in two European languages: French and Spanish.

Leaving Certificate or equivalent and an interview with the course coordinator. Mature students are welcome.
Career Opportunities
Students may pursue careers in the EU institutions and the Irish Civil Service.
Third Level Links/Progression
Students who achieve Level 5 QQI certification can gain entry to a number of language and arts courses in universities such as DCU and UCD via the CAO application process and the Higher Education Links Scheme. For more information, click here
